About
-----------------------------------------------------

TimeLock allows you to set a delay on requiring the entry of your password.

There are 2 versions. TimeLock-PS.pkg will install in the
password slip and TimeLock-SB.pkg installs into the
NotePad's statusbar button.

There are English, Germany and French versions of TimeLock available. If you
would like to convert TimeLock to your language please e-mail
TimeLock@catamount.com. The text to convert will be sent to you, after you
convert the text send it back to Catamount Software, and your language's
version of TimeLock will be sent back to you.

* This is a 30 day demo. A registration code is required to continue use after 30 days.

-----------------------------------------------------
Why?
-----------------------------------------------------

I took on this project because I wasn't using the builtin password
feature because it was to cumbersome. I would turn off my Newton just
to remember one more thing and need to turn it back on again and enter
my password.

With TimeLock I can set a delay so if I need to turn my newton right
back on again I can without having to re-enter my password.

-----------------------------------------------------
Installation
-----------------------------------------------------

If you havent decided which version of TimeLock to install yet you
should continue reading.

TimeLock-PS.pkg : installs TimeLock in the Password Slip. The advantage
is that this stays out of your way. Most people will set the password
delay once and be happy with it at one setting.

TimeLock-SB.pkg : installs TimeLock in the NotePads status bar. The
advantage is that you have easy access to this. You can turn on and off
the password quickly or you can adjust the delay settings.

-----------------------------------------------------
Use
-----------------------------------------------------

If TimeLockSlip is installed into the password slip in the prefs. To get
to the password slip open tap prefs, tap personal, tap set password. To
set the delay just choose one of the predefined time settings from the
Password Delay picker.

If TimeLock is installed into the NotePad's statusbar. To set
the delay tap the button with the lock icon and choose one of the
predefined settings.

If the next time you turn on your Newton is before the last time
you turned it off plus your delayed time setting then you will not need
to enter the password again. Otherwise the Newton will welcome you with
the customary password screen.

-----------------------------------------------------
Predefined Settings
-----------------------------------------------------

Always Require Password Will turn on the password if the password is
entered

Never Require Password Will turn off requiring the password.

1 minute delay Will not require the password be entered if Newton is
turned back on within 1 minute of the last time it was turned off.

5,10,20,30 minute Will not require the password be entered if Newton is turned
back on within 5,10,20,30 minutes respectively of the last time it was turned
off.

1, 2, 4, 8, 12, 24, 48 hour Will not require the password be entered if Newton
is turned back on within 1, 2, 4, 8, 12, 24, 48 hours respectively of the last
time it was turned off.

Set Password Opens the password slip for you to modify the password.
This option is not available in the TimeLock-PS.pkg version because you
will already have the password slip open.

Shareware Who and where to send your Shareware fee to.

Thanks This has been removed from version 2.0 to keep the program as
small as possible. It used to read Thank you to Stefan Powell for the
TimeLock idea, to all of the registered users.

User Comments
-------------

"I hope the Newton community likes it as much as I do. I was using both
the "Sleep Aid" and "Password" programs to try to get Newton to work
somewhat the way I wanted it to work and TimeLock has replaced them
both. It works great." - Stefan Powell
